Best NFL Supplemental Draft pick no. 2: Rob Moore, WR, New York Jets

Cardinals. Rob Moore. 2. 32. Scouting Report. player. Pick Analysis. WR

Although Rob Moore was a first-round supplemental draft pick by the New York Jets, he played the best years of his career in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals.

Any NFL fan that grew up in the 90s will remember Moore well as he made a couple of Pro Bowls and his first All-Pro team at the age of 29 with the Cardinals.

In that season, he racked up:

  • 97 receptions
  • 1,584 receiving yards
  • 8 receiving touchdowns

He averaged almost 100 yards per game that year for the Cardinals in what would be the best season of his NFL career statistically.

Although a lot of players end up in the NFL Supplemental Draft due to negative circumstances, Moore actually ended up there as a result of graduating from Syracuse early and not entering the NFL Draft in time.

The New York Jets spent a first-round pick on him and he ended up having some productive years in green, making the Pro Bowl in 1994 just before he was traded to the Arizona Cardinals.

The Jets traded Moore for the opportunity to draft pass rusher Hugh Douglas, who wound up having an outstanding NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Moore played 10 NFL seasons and finished with over 9,300 receiving yards and 49 touchdowns.
