How could you put the Bengals at no. 2 on this list? Don’t you realize they made it to the Super Bowl just last year?!
I’m sorry to be this brutally honest, Bengals fans, but your team had big-time “team of destiny” vibes in 2021.
That doesn’t mean the Bengals weren’t a good team in 2021. That’s not what I’m saying at all.
What I am saying is that this was a 10-7 team one year removed from picking first overall in the NFL Draft.
The Bengals, by all counts, were two or three years ahead of schedule last year.
Even with so many good pieces in place, I can see the Bengals being a team that takes a step forward in terms of regular season record this season but a step back when it comes to playoff performance.
That’s not exactly a bold prediction to say the Bengals won’t make it to the Super Bowl again, but I think that’s the reality of things in the AFC right now.
I do think the Bengals are one of the top teams in the AFC and certainly the best team in the AFC North as of right now.
They are one of the top candidates in the NFL to win their first Super Bowl in franchise history simply due to the fact that they were on the cusp of doing it just a few short months ago.
However, there’s one team on this list that I think actually has the best shot of winning it all in 2022…
