NFL matchup no. 1: Jalen Ramsey vs. Davante Adams

These two had to end up as the top wide receiver/defensive back matchup on the list simply because these two athletes are the best at their respective positions.

Watching the smooth and architectural route running of Adams vs the dynamic and physical coverage skills Ramsey brings to the table will truly be a sight.

There is intensity between the two and they have both made it clear they look forward to the challenge. While the two appear to maintain their professional composure on the field the sideline cameras are always rolling to see reactions after specific plays between these two.

The dynamics of this matchup could change as Davante Adams now finds himself catching passes from former college teammate quarterback Derek Carr as a Las Vegas Raider.

While Carr has the ability to hit receivers deep and is an accurate passer, Adams was catching footballs from quarterback Aaron Rodgers up until now.

When Adams faced Ramsey in Week 12 of the 2021 season, Adams went 5 for 5 on receptions with Ramsey in coverage. While Ramsey was not the winner of this bout he allowed a mere 1.6 yards of separation when covering Adams.

The main factor for Adams’ success in this scenario was his own ball skills and the historic accuracy of Aaron Rodgers‘ throws.

Davante Adams is no longer a member of the Packers therefore his reign over the NFC comes to an end (kind of) but never fear the Rams and Raiders meet for a clash in 2022 during Week 14.

Mark your calendars as this will be a masterclass of competition between the best cornerback and the best wide receiver in the NFL, thus deserving the #1 spot on this list.
