2022 NFL: 3 biggest undrafted free agent steals

NFL top 2022 UDFA no. 1: Justyn Ross, Kansas City Chiefs, WR
Justyn Ross was a star early in his career with the Clemson Tigers before a neck and spine injury slowed him down. He did come back in 2021 and showed he can still play and take a hit but he wasn’t the same player.
With his injury history and the decline in effectiveness in 2021, Ross went undrafted but then signed with the Kansas City Chiefs where he has a real shot at making the team. And if he turns around and can play at a level close to his freshman campaign when he averaged 21.7 yards per catch, he will be a huge steal.
Greg Morse of Arrowhead Addict says it’s hard not to get excited about what Ross could bring to the table if he stays healthy — and admits the move comes with very little risk considering he was a UDFA.
"“So what should Chiefs Kingdom think about Ross? It’s hard not to be bubbling with a little bit of excitement no matter how you feel. Ross is about as low-risk, high-reward a player as has come through the league in quite a while. If he can recapture even some of the playmaking ability that he showed during that 2019 championship run with Clemson, then he’ll easily be able to make the roster as one of Mahomes’ options.” — Morse, Arrowhead Addict"
Kansas City needs a spark this season with Tyreek Hill now in Miami and while it might be too much to ask for Ross to provide that on his own, he could find himself an integral part of their receiving corps before long.
Of course, that comes with the caveat that he needs to stay healthy in order to do so.
