Identifying weaknesses for each AFC West team for 2022

Kansas City Chiefs – Pass rusher

The Chiefs have some question marks with their group of pass rushers.  This is extra noticeable, considering that the rest of their AFC West rivals are all stacked in this position group.

After signing a big deal when coming over from Seattle, Frank Clark hasn’t exactly been the game-breaking edge player they had hoped he’d be.

Now 29 years old, Clark is likely on his last season or two in Kansas City.

To try and help this, the Chiefs drafted George Karlaftis during the 2022 NFL Draft.

The former Purdue Boilermaker didn’t fill the stat sheet while in college but possesses desirable pass-rushing qualities.

Behind those two projected starters are Michael Danna and Joshua Kaindoh, two young, but very unproven players.

The Chiefs still have Chris Jones along the interior, and he figures to still be a violent disruption, but their edge pieces are not going to scare opposing offensive lines.  I would expect the team to add a pass rusher to their group before the 2022 season begins.

I don’t think it would be to their benefit to simply roll with the players they currently have here.  There is too much unknown to put your team’s pass rush in the hands of.
