Will Anderson. 3. player. Pick Analysis. EDGE. 50. Scouting Report. Alabama

2023 NFL mock draft, 3rd overall pick

Detroit Lions: Will Anderson, EDGE, Alabama

The Detroit Lions are another team that can use a quarterback but they instead go with Will Anderson at No. 3. It might not make a ton of sense at first for them to add an edge rusher this early after taking Aidan Hutchinson early in 2022, but the fact remains that Dan Campbell seems dead-set on taking the best players available.

With both Stroud and Young off the board, that best player ends up being Anderson. Last season, Anderson broke out with 101 tackles and 17.5 sacks for the Crimson Tide. He might not have ideal size at 6-foot-4 and 235-pounds but his ability to get after the quarterback is too good for the Lions to pass on at this point.

Pick Analysis. LSU. 4. 36. Scouting Report. DT. Jaquelin Roy. player

2023 NFL mock draft, 4th overall pick

Seattle Seahawks: Jaquelin Roy, DT, LSU

At No. 4 overall, the Seattle Seahawks end up grabbing LSU defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy. Last season, Roy had 30 tackles with six going for a loss. He also had 1.5 sacks and while none of that’s enough for him to go this high, there are expectations that his raw talent and physical gifts will put him on the map this year.

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 297-pounds, Roy is a big-bodied defensive tackle expected to help the Tigers defensive line continue to assert its dominance in 2022. As long as he does that, he could be a surprise top-10 pick.
