Reason no. 2: The rest of the AFC West keeps getting better

These are truly unprecedented times for the Kansas City Chiefs as we look at the rest of the AFC West.

There is absolutely no question about it — this is the best the AFC West has been in the Patrick Mahomes era.

The Las Vegas Raiders finished in second place last year, and in 2022 they have added pieces like wide receiver Davante Adams and pass rusher Chandler Jones.

The Los Angeles Chargers added big pieces like Khalil Mack, JC Jackson, and Zion Johnson. They already have one of the league’s top young quarterbacks in Justin Herbert with some of the best offensive weapons around him.

The Denver Broncos acquired Russell Wilson in a trade and already had a really strong roster to pair with a stud quarterback.

The Chiefs undoubtedly deserve respect for the number of things they have accomplished over the last handful of years as the dominant force in the AFC West.

With that being said, the AFC West now looks like the best overall division in the NFL and with three, maybe even four, top 10 quarterbacks?

This division is absolutely loaded and could present the Chiefs with their most difficult challenge in the last five years.
