The Pittsburgh Steelers are entering a season full of change and while they should still have hope, these 3 players are being vastly overrated

For years, the Pittsburgh Steelers were the kings of the AFC North. That started to change over the past few seasons and it’s going to get more difficult for them to get back on top now that Ben Roethlisberger is retired and they’re changing course under center.

The good news for them is that they have a talented roster and one of the best coaches and front offices in the NFL. But that doesn’t mean they don’t have a few players who are being overvalued heading into the 2022 season — and here, we look into three such players.

Steelers overrated player No. 3: Myles Jack, LB

After a stellar career with the UCLA Bruins, Myles Jack was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 36 overall in the 2016 NFL Draft. There were concerns about a degenerative knee condition that hurt his stock but he still put up some great numbers for the Jags.

Jack topped 100 tackles three times and had 513 total in six seasons. He also added 6.5 sacks and three interceptions. He played well enough to earn a four-year $57 million contract extension but was released ahead of the 2022 season and landed with the Steelers.

Since his arrival, there’s been some real excitement about him being paired with Devin Bush. The problem is, Jack is living more on reputation than actual performance.

While he did rack up plenty of impressive stats, he was one of the lowest graded linebackers in the NFL last season according to PFF — and only slightly higher than Bush who was also not looked on favorably by the analytical site.

Perhaps a change of scenery will help him rebound but expectations should be tempered until he proves himself.
