Plenty of players are going to be fighting against the dreaded NFL Draft “bust” label heading into 2022. We take a look at five players, in particular.

Nobody wants the dreaded NFL Draft “bust” label.

Well, unless you’re JaMarcus Russell, apparently.

Heading into the 2022 NFL season, a handful of players drafted in the first round of a couple of recent classes need big seasons to avoid that dreaded label.

Although some of these players are barely halfway into their rookie contracts, others are truly at a crossroads and have to prove they were worthy of the lofty NFL Draft status they received coming into the league.

Here are the top five players looking to avoid the dreaded NFL Draft “bust” label heading into 2022.

Possible NFL Draft bust no. 5: K’Lavon Chaisson, LB, Jacksonville Jaguars

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 5. LB. Jaguars. K'Lavon Chaisson. player. 52

  • 2020 NFL Draft
  • 1st-round (20th overall)
  • 31 games
  • 2 sacks
  • 50 total tackles

No matter what metric you use to really gauge the success of a first-round linebacker, former LSU star K’Lavon Chaisson has not been able to measure up.

Chaisson has been able to play a little bit of special teams for the Jaguars in addition to getting a handful of starts in each of his first two NFL seasons defensively, but the Jaguars have already effectively moved on.

With Josh Allen on one side, new number one overall pick Travon Walker will take the other top edge spot in Jacksonville, leaving Chaisson’s future in Duval County at least somewhat murky, to say the least.
