Breakout NFL WR no. 3: Jerry Jeudy, Denver Broncos

After a solid rookie season, Jerry Jeudy was hyped as the next great Alabama wide receiver. Despite the quarterback woes and the case of the drops, Jeudy managed 856 yards, with the league’s seventh-best yards per catch average of 16.5.

Unfortunately, injuries and bad quarterback play led to a below-average sophomore season. He played in 10 games and failed to find the end zone, managing just 12.3 yards per catch — that will change.

The running game will carry the team a long way, but there’s no doubt that head coach Nathaniel Hackett will give Russell Wilson the okay to let it fly.

The onetime Super Bowl champ will bring a cache the Broncos haven’t had since Peyton Manning, which is good news for the former first-round pick. Wilson will come in and help Jerry Jeudy reach new heights thanks to his elite accuracy, arm strength, and in-pocket mobility.

Jeudy is an excellent route-runner who knows how to work back to his quarterback. He’s not unlike Wilson’s Seattle Seahawks teammate, Tyler Lockett.

Jeudy has elite quickness and speed to take the top off defenses. Hackett will allow Jeudy to work after the catch and take the top off defenses off play action.

With Courtland Sutton doing his thing on the boundary as the volume target, Jeudy should do a lot with less. He’ll catch 70-80 passes while averaging 16-plus yards per catch and 10 touchdowns.
