3 reasons Tom Brady and the Buccaneers will disappoint in 2022
Will Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fall short again in 2022? Will they let fans down? We look at three reasons why they just might.
If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a disappointment in 2022, it certainly won’t be because Tom Brady lacks a strong Twitter game.
This man becomes more lovable by the day.
No, if the Buccaneers are going to let their fans down in 2022 after another strong season in 2021, it’s going to be for vastly different reasons.
The Buccaneers enter 2022 having taken on a lot more change this offseason certainly than they did a year ago when they were nearly able to keep the entire band together after winning the Super Bowl.
A lot of that change could contribute heavily to this team not being able to meet expectations, which are absolutely to win a Super Bowl.
Reason the Buccaneers will disappoint no. 1: Chris Godwin’s injury/recovery
Is there any doubt that not having Chris Godwin for any extended period of time is going to hurt the Buccaneers’ offense?
We saw the effect it had in the playoffs, for sure.
Godwin had surgery in January and with a recovery time of at least nine months, the Buccaneers went out and stole Russell Gage from their rivals in Atlanta.
Not having Godwin in the lineup means we’re going to see more of the likes of not only Gage but Scotty Miller, Tyler Johnson, or Breshad Perriman.
Maybe even some Jaelon Darden.
There’s no doubt that Tom Brady will find a way to maximize the talent around him, but not having Chris Godwin at the start of the season and perhaps not having a fully healthy Godwin at all this year could have a significant impact on the Buccaneers’ offense.
