The New England Patriots’ decision to not name an offensive and defensive coordinator for the 2022 NFL Season allowed Skip Bayless to take a shot at the team and Bill Belichick.

It’s a known fact that Fox Sports 1’s Skip Bayless credits Tom Brady, not Bill Belichick, for the New England Patriots’ 21st Century dynasty.

So, when the franchise opted not to name an offensive and defensive coordinator for the upcoming season, Bayless fired his thoughts.

Ummm, what do the Patriots not hiring coordinators for both sides of the ball have to do with Brady? And how is Belichick chasing Brady’s legacy?

Sure, Brady has proven that he can win while away from New England and has beaten the Patriots since leaving the team, but is Belichick chasing Brady’s legacy? Sounds like a shot and a low blow.

Yes, it does seem odd for a team like the Patriots to opt for not using an offensive or defensive coordinator as opposed to the 31 other franchises in the NFL, but avoid criticism?

Belichick has done that his entire coaching career, and six rings as a head coach and two while with the Giants say it all.

Skip Bayless took a low shot at Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.

It is known that Skip Bayless’ co-host Shannon Sharpe has often taken Bill Belichick’s side while firing low blows at Tom Brady at every opportunity, so maybe this is Bayless’ way of telling his co-host and Pro Football Hall of Famer that two can play this game? Who knows?

But, if Belichick is trying to chase Brady’s legacy, this may not be the way to do so.

All it takes is building the team up enough to win the division, go through the playoffs, and win a Super Bowl as head coach without No.12 as the starter, but that’s easier said than done, given what the AFC boasts at the quarterback position.

Did Skip Bayless provide shock-jock material when going after Belichick while trying to praise Brady?

Not exactly, but it was undoubtedly a low blow, and frankly, it doesn’t make much sense, but in the 21st century, anything will be said, and everything will be scrutinized. Football season can’t come fast enough.
