The reason teams such as the Denver Broncos and Cleveland Browns were willing to give up so much for new quarterbacks this offseason likely had a lot to do with the Los Angeles Rams and the success they had after making a bold move of their own.

Head coach Sean McVay wanted to get someone who he could truly win with, so he sent Jared Goff and two Round 1 picks to the Detroit Lions for Matthew Stafford. The result was exactly what he hoped for as the Rams wound up winning it all.

Of course, they didn’t only win due to the presence of Stafford. They also had an elite defense led by Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey and also added some great veteran options in Von Miller and Odell Beckham, Jr. during the season.

While they hardly have any draft picks due to these trades, they still continue to make moves — like signing Allen Robinson in free agency to join Cooper Kupp. They also landed Bobby Wagner, who will instantly improve their linebackers corps.

Entering the 2022 season, the Rams are still the team to beat. And what makes them dangerous is the fact that if they don’t think they’re good enough to win it all, they will sell future assets to land their missing piece during the season.
