Green Bay Packers breakout player no. 3: Romeo Doubs, WR

The star of Green Bay Packers camp offensively has got to be Romeo Doubs thus far.

To those who watched him at Nevada, this will come as absolutely no surprise. Doubs has a long frame with good speed, and he’s been showing off strong hands all throughout training camp.

As the adage goes, Doubs simply needs to go out there and continue stacking days together. Making a regular season impact has very little to do with what kind of national recognition he can generate, but if you keep seeing tweets and updates from Packers camp about Doubs catching passes from Aaron Rodgers, that’s a great sign.

The Packers haven’t gotten the chance to see as much of second-round pick Christian Watson as they would have liked so far, but at this point, would his emergence as a rookie be more of a bonus?

Coming from North Dakota State, Watson may need time to translate his game to NFL speed anyway. That is, as soon as he can get out on the field and actually practice.

For the time being, the Packers have to be ecstatic over the progress that Doubs has been making so early on in his first NFL training camp.

Doubs is clearly taking the right approach to his first NFL training camp, even after an offseason in which he had to deal with an injury.

You don’t often see fourth-round draft picks coming in and looking this pro-ready, drawing so many rave reviews from their coaches and teammates.

Doubs has the potential to be every fantasy football player’s favorite sleeper pick in dynasty leagues and even though Allen Robinson is expected to assume WR1 duties this year, Doubs could have a massive impact.
