Dallas Cowboys WR trade option no. 2: Denzel Mims, Jets

You have to applaud the New York Jets for at least not killing Denzel Mims’ trade value this year.

Who knows what you should actually put stock into regarding what the Jets or any of their coaches say regarding Mims, but this is another former highly-touted draft pick who has a combination of size and speed.

The former Baylor star has been virtually non-existent as a pro — he caught just eight passes a season ago and has yet to score a touchdown in the NFL.

The New York Jets have revamped their wide receiver room and Mims doesn’t appear to be in the immediate plans to start.

The Jets have depth concerns elsewhere on their roster and the Cowboys could make much better use of Mims this season than the Jets could.

Not to mention, Mims would go from Zach Wilson and Joe Flacco throwing him the ball to Dak Prescott.

Not bad.

From those in attendance at Jets camp, it sounds like Mims is a man on a mission.

He doesn’t want the dreaded NFL Draft bust label, and can you blame him?

But is his strong training camp going to carry into preseason games? Is he simply auditioning for other teams at this point?

As of right now, the Cowboys wouldn’t exactly be buying low on Mims — that seemingly could have been done last year — but they could still probably pry him away from the Jets for a reasonable price.
