With teams starting to meet for training camp in preparation for the 2022 season, here’s a look at the most overrated player for each of the 32 teams in the NFL

Training camps are underway around the NFL as teams prepare for the 2022 season. Right now, most clubs are trying to get their conditioning where it needs to be while also trying to decide who will make the cut as they build their 53-man roster.

While that’s going on, we take a minute to look over each of those depth charts and identify one player from each of the 32 teams as the most overrated.

Arizona Cardinals: J.J. Watt, DE

There was a point in time when J.J. Watt was as good as Aaron Donald is right now. Watt led the NFL in sacks in 2012 with 20.5 and again in 2015 when he had 17.5. He was also named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year three times while playing for the Houston Texans.

As good as he was in his prime, it’s been a while since that Watt was seen on the field. He hardly played in 2016 and 2017 due to injuries and following a huge 2018 campaign, he again struggled over the next two seasons.

In 2021, he and the Texans parted ways and he signed a two-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals. Again, injuries were an issue and he appeared in just seven games. Watt’s deal is set to pay him $31 million over two years and so far, all the Cards have gotten from him is 16 tackles, one sack, and 16 pressures. That’s a lot of money for not much production.
