Green Bay Packers: Darnell Savage, S

Overall, Darnell Savage has been a solid player for the Green Bay Packers. They would agree to this since they elected to pick up the fifth-year option on his original rookie deal, meaning he will be with the team for the next two seasons.

However, Savage saw a huge dip in his effectiveness in 2021. According to Pro Football Focus, his grade fell nearly 15 points and he fell from the No. 17 safety in the NFL to No. 72.

There were two big problems for him, which affected his score. That was his missed tackle rate as well as his struggles with trying to stop the deep ball.

Of course, there will be those who point to the second season of his career as proof that he’s a top-tier safety in the NFL. He did play lights out that year, recording 75 tackles and four picks. However, he wasn’t great as a rookie, landing 48th overall according to PFF that year.

Having said all that, the issues that Savage has are fixable. He could very well return to the form we saw in 2020. Either way, this is a huge campaign for him as he would surely like to try and land an extension on top of that fifth year in his current deal.
