Chicago Bears: Eddie Jackson, S

There aren’t many safeties that started out their career with as much success as Eddie Jackson had. The former Alabama safety was a fourth-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 2017 and he was a force in his first two seasons.

Jackson recorded eight interceptions (six of which were in 2018) and recovered four fumbles. Even more impressive was the fact that he ran back five total defensive touchdowns in that span.

His success led to him being a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2018 and he made the Pro Bowl in both 2018 and 2019. He then agreed to a massive extension with Chicago, earning a four-year extension worth $58.4 million — which made him the top-paid safety in the league at the time.

Unfortunately, he hasn’t had the same production since then. During the 2020 campaign, he had a career-high with 82 tackles but went without an interception for the first time in his career. The lack of picks continued in 2021 as he again had zero, and also had a career-low with just two pass defenses on the season. On top of that, he had no fumble recoveries either, making it the first time in his career that he recorded no turnovers in a campaign.

Jackson has the skill to turn things around and the team hopes that Jaquan Brisker playing alongside him will help him do exactly that.
