Madden 23 ratings: Cooper Kupp, WR, Los Angeles Rams

I get it. He was a few points short of joining the 99 club, so why not give it to him? Unlike Davante Adams, Cooper Kupp did all he did with a quarterback who many did not see as a Top 5 signal-caller.

Adams of course had Aaron Rodgers while Kupp had Matt Stafford. There is no other wide receiver in the NFL who did more than Kupp. We’re not talking about just last season, Kupp’s success was of historic proportions.

In 2021 Kupp lead the NFL in catches, yards, and touchdowns. The All-Pro’s 1,947 yards was the second most in history being Calvin Johnson.

And it was 331-yards more than the next guy, which was 1,616 yards by Justin Jefferson. Despite Megatron’s historic 1,964, he only caught five touchdowns. Kupp wasn’t just catching passes and getting tackled.

The former third-round pick dominated in yards after the catch with 846, over 100-yards more than Deebo Samuel (780).

Kupp’s dominance didn’t stop in the regular season. He tacked on an additional 478 yards and six touchdowns en route to the Super Bowl.

His eight catches, 92 yards, and two touchdowns were part of the reason his team won the chip. Madden got this one wrong. Fix it.
