Madden 23 ratings: Xavien Howard, CB, Miami Dolphins

When you think about the best corners in the NFL, how long will it take you to get to Miami Dolphins, Xavien Howard?

Jalen Ramsey and Jaire Alexander are two names that may come up, but that’s where it stops.

Even if they didn’t want to make Howard a top three corner, they rated players over him, who paled in comparison.

Baltimore Ravens corner Marlon Humphrey spent time on the injury list by default alone Howard should have been over him. And there’s Washington Commander Kendall Fuller, who had one interception all season.

Howard had 15 interceptions over the last two seasons, often plays in 0 coverage, and lined up on the team’s best wideout. Still, that wasn’t enough.

In 2021 he was tied for fourth in interceptions with five, which was one more than Jalen Ramsey. He also added 16 pass defenses which tied Ramsey.

Howard is one of the best press corners in the league, and despite his speed concerns, he’s capable of neutralizing the top wideout on a lot of teams. He’s also not afraid of mixing it up in the run game — see his 50 tackles in 2021.

His overall is 89, Madden 23 didn’t do the All-Pro corner justice. Give this man a 94.
