5 Most disrespected NFL players in Madden 23 ratings
Madden 23 ratings: Ja’Marr Chase, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
Look at Ja’Marr Chase’s stats. There is no way you’d think he was the 18th best receiver in the NFL, but Madden 23 did.
Chase made the NFL look like college in his first season as a pro. He quickly became Joe Burrow’s favorite target en route to the Super Bowl.
Chase finished with a historic rookie season. His 1,455 yards were good enough for 4th in the NFL. His 13 touchdowns were tied for third in the NFL, which was more than Davante Adams — only Mike Evans and Cooper Kupp had more. He did all of this with 128 targets, 20th in the NFL.
By comparison, Kupp and Adams have 198 targets. Chase was a first down machine as well, catching 56 targets to move the chains.
The former LSU wideout had 22 catches for 20+ yards or more, which was tied for 4th in the NFL. He also had the third most yards after the catch with 651 yards.
Despite his accolades, Madden creators felt an 87 rating was the best they could do. The same rating as Brandin Cooks, AJ Brown, and less than DJ Moore.
Unlike the other guys, Chase dominated in the playoffs with a pair of 100+ yard games in victory. He helped his team come close to winning the chip with another five catches for 89 yards. There’s no way Chase should be tied for 18th in Madden rating.
