5 Reasons to trust James Robinson in Fantasy Football in 2022
By Devin Lange
2. He has top 10 NFL Running Back talent
In 2020, Robinson had 1,070 rushing yards, 7 rushing touchdowns, 344 receiving yards, and 3 receiving touchdowns. He was ranked RB7 in all formats in 2020, including standard, half-point, and full-point PPR.
In 2021, he had 767 rushing yards, 8 rushing touchdowns, and 222 receiving yards through week 16. He was benched twice by now-fired head coach Urban Meyer despite QB Trevor Lawrence stating he “needed” Robinson on the field.
Nonetheless, he was ranked RB25 in standard scoring leagues and RB24 in half-point and full-point PPR leagues through week 16. He is a running back with proven ability to run, break tackles, catch, get air yards, and score touchdowns.
3. Jacksonville’s offense should be improved
The Jaguars have been busy this offseason. After hiring former Philadelphia Eagles head coach and Super Bowl champion Doug Pederson, they have signed multiple offensive free agents.
This includes wide receiver Christian Kirk, right guard Brandon Scherff, wide receiver Zay Jones, tight end Evan Engram, and center Luke Fortner.
The hope is that the Jaguars have hired the right coach after hiring and firing former coach Urban Meyer within one season.
Also, they are hopeful they have now surrounded second-year QB Trevor Lawrence with enough talent to live up to his 1st overall draft pick potential and succeed. James Robinson is included in this talent, as well.
