Which players will make the most out of NFL free agency next year? We take a look at three free agents that could have new homes in 2023.

Players who feel NFL Free Agency looming around the corner understand the importance of the upcoming season.

Being in the last year under their current contract, athletes must still perform to the best of their ability on the gridiron. As we enter the 2022 season, a few players plan to up their stock for a busy free agency market next off-season.

While defensive and offensive coaching staffs work on developing their players for the grueling season, front offices and general managers are stuck with the task of negotiating new contracts with their players and agents.

Establishing value for each player due for a new deal is a cumbersome task, especially when both parties disagree on what the bottom dollar should be to keep a rostered player with the team.

If both parties disagree on a deal before the season begins, the odds of that player becoming an unrestricted free agent increases for the following year.

Lamar Jackson, Derwin James, and Roquan Smith are star players waiting for new contracts. While the Ravens, Chargers, and Bears work to keep their stars on the roster, here are a few players who could see a venue change next season.

1. NFL Free Agency 2023: Saqoun Barkley needs a productive season to raise value for 2023

Attacking opposing defenses through the air has become the latest fad in the NFL and has changed how offenses view their skill players. Receivers work on developing into a bigger target for their quarterbacks and running backs work to become reliable check-down options.

Daniel Jones and the Giants have struggled to incorporate the latest innovations into their developing offense.

In 2021, the G-Men finished second to last in offensive yards per game. As the team looks to bounce back in the upcoming year, rumors have circulated concerning the future of the Giants’ former first-round pick.

Saquon Barkley’s production since entering the league in 2017 has declined significantly – leaving fans concerned about his future with the team. During his rookie season, Barkley accounted for 2,028 yards of the total offense.

His 5.0 yards per carry and 11 touchdowns took the league by storm, making him a player to watch as his career progressed.

Finding similar success to his rookie campaign has been difficult for the former Nittany Lion. A plethora of injuries have kept the explosive tailback sidelined the last two seasons – including a torn right ACL that caused him to miss the 2020 season.

Fortunately for the Giants, Barkley is in the best shape since entering the league this off-season. If the Giants’ premiere running back can return to his glory, the chances of increasing his value for free agency next season will be higher than it currently stands.
