2. NFL Free Agency 2023: Dalton Schultz must continue to produce for the Cowboys to increase free-agency value.

Quarterbacks and receivers have a special bond on the field, but what about the connection between the gunslinger and tight end? It’s fair to say that the usage of the end man in line has shifted as the league continues to experience its share of innovations.

Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and Kyle Pitts have expanded the role of the modern-day tight end – leaving room for teams to emulate their success. Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys could have the next big-time tight end target if they decide to use him efficiently.

Jason Witten set the standard for Cowboy tight ends while playing in Dallas. His 13,046 yards receiving throughout his career helped America’s team remain relevant during his career.

With Witten long gone, it is up to Dalton Schultz to continue the tradition of dominating from the line of scrimmage. In 2021, Schultz recorded 808 yards receiving with 78 receptions – ranking in the top 25 for both categories.

Dalton’s eight touchdown receptions were the most totaled in his four-year career – doubling his total from the 2020 season.

Schultz will remain a part of the offense this upcoming season. Higher expectations for Dak Prescott will cause the seventh-year gunslinger to use all the weapons in his arsenal.

If Dalton Schultz and Dak Prescott find a good rhythm this season, it could equate to more dollar signs for the soon-to-be free agent next season.
