3. Offensive preview for 2022

As per Kevin Seifert, ESPN staff writer, Adam Thielen has been getting consistent red-zone work in the new offense in training camp.  Both current quarterback Kirk Cousins and new head coach Kevin O’Connell had such praise for Thielen and his abilities.

"“He’s always been strong with the football,” Cousins said. “He has great natural hands, great body control, and he plays big. He plays big and strong, and he runs big and strong. That shows up in the red zone and in tight windows and in tight coverage.”"

Kevin O’Connell has been doing an exceptional job at receiving feedback from Cousin and Thielen. Thielen hasn’t been shy about pointing out plays that worked well or were run in particular situations in the past, either.

"“The coolest part about it is the feedback,” O’Connell said. “He’s able to talk to me about, ‘I know we’re coaching this like this, but have you thought about this route stem or this top of the route?’ and that’s where sometimes you say to yourself, ‘Thank goodness we got players like that. Because what you said is better than what I said.’ Let’s do it that way. Other times, we’re going to stick with my way. Either way, we have that conversation.”"

O’Connell has embraced the ways Thielen can excel in his scheme, particularly in the red zone. So far in training camp practices, it appears the Vikings are doing everything they can to preserve the Cousins-Thielen scoring connection.

Every fantasy football team needs depth at wide receiver. Competitors should be drafting 4+ wide receivers alone. At any point in time, any of these players could be moved into one’s starting lineup. Whether it’s because of bye weeks, injuries, or underperformers, early-round picks might be moved to the bench in favor of a later-round pick.

For this reason, finding late-round picks who can outperform their ADP is a surefire way to have continued success. Adam Thielen is one proven player set up to outperform his ADP and be one of the steals of the draft.
