AFC West: Las Vegas Raiders

Out of all the divisions, this is the toughest one to pick out an overrated team. The AFC West is simply loaded and they could send four teams to the playoffs and no one would be shocked.

But if we had to pick one that might be getting too much hype, it has to be the Las Vegas Raiders. This team deserves a lot of praise for what they did a season ago. Despite the Jon Gruden distraction, they rallied around interim head coach Rich Bisaccia.

After Gruden was out, Bisaccia led them to a 7-5 record and they finished 10-7 and made it to the playoffs. As did most teams in the AFC, they were handed a loss by the Cincinnati Bengals who were simply on fire in the postseason.

Then in the offseason, they brought in Josh McDaniels and traded for Davante Adams. The pairing of Adams and Carr could be huge especially considering they have been friends since their collegiate days at Fresno State.

However, there has to be some concern about their new coach. McDaniels had a disastrous stint with the Denver Broncos the first time he was a head coach. He also took the job in Indianapolis before backing out just ahead of his initial press conference.

Simply put, he’s a wild card. There’s no way of telling whether or not he will be successful or if his over-the-top personality is going to be too much for this team to handle after showing how well they responded to the cool, calm voice of Bisaccia.
