Fantasy Football Mock Draft 2022: Round 5

  • Team 1: Justin Herbert, QB, Los Angeles Chargers
  • Team 2: Marquise Brown, WR, Arizona Cardinals
  • Team 3: Brandin Cooks, WR, Houston Texans
  • Team 4: DK Metcalf, WR, Seattle Seahawks
  • Team 5: Travis Etienne Jr., RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Team 6: George Kittle, TE, San Francisco 49ers
  • Team 7: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Denver Broncos
  • *Team 8: Gabriel Davis, WR, Buffalo Bills
  • Team 9: Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Team 10: Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Detroit Lions
  • Team 11: Elijah Mitchell, RB, San Francisco 49ers
  • Team 12: Darnell Mooney, WR, Chicago Bears

Another wideout is the pick here as Gabriel Davis comes off the board in Round 5, and he’s the second Buffalo Bills player we grab. It’s never a bad idea to double up by grabbing a wideout and quarterback from the same team as you’ll start to rack up the points when those two go off.

Speaking of going off, that’s exactly what Davis did in the Divisional Round of the 2021 NFL Playoffs. Against the Kansas City Chiefs, Davis pulled in eight of 10 targets for 201 yards with four touchdowns.

That was a huge performance considering he had just 35 receptions for 549 yards with six touchdowns during the season. Having said that, the departure of Emmanuel Sanders and Cole Beasley will lead to more targets for Davis and he proved he can handle this with ease. This could be a breakout year for him, and our fantasy team would benefit from that.
