9. Philadelphia Eagles vs. Indianapolis Colts

For the past several seasons, the Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts have been connected to one another. This started in 2018 when the Colts hired Frank Reich to be their head coach following his successful two-year stint as the offensive coordinator in Philly.

Reich, who helped the Eagles win a Super Bowl with Nick Foles filling in for an injured Carson Wentz, had Nick Sirianni on staff in Indy for three seasons as his offensive coordinator. That was until Sirianni left to join the Eagles as their head coach in 2021.

The two teams then made a trade as the Colts were looking for a new quarterback and sent a draft pick to Philly for Wentz. He only lasted one season as they’ve now put the ball in Matt Ryan’s hands but the coaching ties remain the same.

It wouldn’t be the first time to see such a dynamic as coaches have often found themselves trying to knock off a former mentor. This happened in the most recent Super Bowl with Sean McVay as the coach of the Los Angeles Rams defeating Zac Taylor who was an assistant wide receivers coach for one season and the quarterback coach for another under McVay with the Rams.

Outside of the coaches being connected, there would be a fun dynamic with the veteran Ryan who stands in the pocket picking apart a defense playing against Jalen Hurts, who is an improvisational signal-caller that can do as much damage with his legs as he can his arm.
