Running back is arguably the most important in fantasy football since most teams only utilize one or two running backs. This means that the difference between the best and worst running backs can be the difference between your squad winning the championship or missing the playoffs. When you are able to use one of your late-round picks on a running back that can become a weekly starter in your lineup, it gives you a huge advantage and also allows you to better handle injuries and any other uncertainties that may come your way.

In this article, I will be highlighting three running backs that I believe are being picked far too late in fantasy drafts and could help your squad at the most important position in fantasy football!

Three NFL running backs that are great fantasy football values in 2022

  • Could take on RB1 role for Dolphins
  • Perfect fit for offense with Tua at quarterback
  • Guaranteed third down work for PPR leagues

Chase Edmonds has always had relevance due to his pass-catching abilities, but now he could get the chance to be the true starting running back for a team. However, even if he does not handle a majority of the rushing work for the Dolphins we have still seen him be an effective fantasy option based on his efficiency on limited opportunities.

This offseason the Dolphins went out of their way to beef up their running back room, with Edmonds fetching the biggest contract. They also acquired head coach Mike McDaniel from the 49ers, who should be able to run a more effective offense with the personnel of the Dolphins that relies on getting the ball in their playmakers’ hands and yards after the catch. Just last year we saw Myles Gaskin receive 63 targets, and projecting similar numbers for Edmonds with higher efficiency and potential rushing work mixed in, where he is being drafted at RB34 is the absolute worst-case finish for him this year.
