AJ Dillon is a safe RB2 with RB1 upside being drafted far too late in drafts.

Running Back. Green Bay Packer. AJ Dillon. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 3. 49

  • Finished as RB21 last year
  • Should be in for more work with departure of Adams
  • Gets goal line work and unexpected amount of targets

AJ Dillon’s ADP is one of the biggest mysteries to me this offseason. Last season he finished as the RB21, and nothing about that season was fluky. While some may believe the offense is going to take a step back as a whole with the departure of Davante Adams, you could also argue that they will now rely even more on the running backs.

In 2021, Dillon got plenty of work in the passing game, showed his effectiveness as a runner, and got a substantial amount of goal-line work on one of the best offenses in the league. While Aaron Jones will always cap his potential for an RB1 season, there is no reason to believe his usage will take a dive in 2022. Additionally, if Aaron Jones is to get hurt you immediately have a top 10 running back on your roster. I am more than happy with AJ Dillon as my second running back this year and will be happily drafting him at his current average draft position of RB26.

Hopefully, you found this article helpful and you keep these names in the back of your head while drafting. While I would not recommend reaching on any of them, at their current average draft positions they are some of the best picks of the draft!
