2023 NFL Draft: 6 star prospects from Week 1 of the College Football season
2. Mohamed Ibrahim, RB, Minnesota
Before an injury took him out, Mohamed Ibrahim looked like a superstar. Last season he put the Gophers on his back against Ohio State for the three quarters. He bounced back with a vengeance, and New Mexico State was his victim. It wasn’t the best competition but consider this, Ibrahim, dominated with a restructured offensive line.
He was creative and decisive behind a line that took advantage of the competition. The senior running back finished 21 carries for 132 yards and two touchdowns. His coach played him sparingly in the second half. He’s a quick twitch back with good size and excellent contact balance who just helped his stock with an impressive performance.
1. KJ Jefferson QB, Arkansas
Tight end Trey Knox is the Arkansas Razorbacks who tops 2023 NFL Draft boards. However, K.J. Jefferson should get the attention of some draft experts. The 6-3 240-pound quarterback led the Razorbacks to a win over the Cincinnati Bearcats. Jefferson finished 18/26, with 233-yards, and three touchdowns. He showed off his athleticism when his decision to keep in on an RPO led to a rushing touchdown.
He finished with 62-yards on the ground. With the ever-evolving NFL, a quarterback like Jefferson could hear his name called on draft day.
He’s raw, but he has a powerful arm, a big body, and athletic traits. In fact, when things break down, he does his best work. He’s only a junior and could stand one more year in college, but if shows improvement week to week, he’d be an intriguing prospect. So far, so good for the Arkansas signal caller.
