NFL Week 1 fantasy football sleeper at RB: Chase Edmonds, Miami Dolphins

Chase Edmonds Week 1 matchup: vs. New England Patriots

There will be no shortage of eyes on this Miami Dolphins team in Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season. Everyone is looking forward to seeing how the massive change at head coach from Brian Flores to Mike McDaniel works out for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and how much newly acquired wide receiver Tyreek Hill can change things for this team. The Dolphins have a matchup at home against the Patriots in Week 1 and I think that plays right into the hands of ESPN’s RB30, Chase Edmonds.

The Patriots are not going to be able to just load up the box against an offense that has Tyreek Hill at receiver. Because of the threat of Hill stretching the field, I think Edmonds is going to see some favorable looks throughout the game. Not only that, but Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel has talked about wanting to run the ball 30 times a game, standard procedure from what we saw from the 49ers in 2021 where McDaniel was the offensive coordinator

NFL Week 1 fantasy football sleeper at WR: Jerry Jeudy, Denver Broncos

Jerry Jeudy Week 1 matchup: @ Seattle Seahawks

There are few cornerbacks in the NFL that can keep Jerry Jeudy contained. Although his numbers don’t reflect it due to poor QB play and horrendous play-calling from former offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, Jerry Jeudy has been one of the NFL’s best since he came into the league at creating separation and getting open. As a rookie, he struggled some with drops, but that wasn’t the case in 2021.

Heading into his third NFL season, Jeudy is the clear WR2 in Denver behind Courtland Sutton and is ranked as ESPN’s WR22 going into a Week 1 matchup against the Seahawks. With Russell Wilson now throwing him the ball, Jeudy isn’t just going to get open, he’s also going to have a quarterback that can put the ball on him and let him make plays. I think he’s in line for a huge week.
