Chris Olave should outperform his projected receiving yards total in the Saints offense

. 2. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 1.1u to win 1u. Chris Olave over 674.5 Receiving Yards -110 . player. 15

  • Talented receiver with high draft capital
  • History of high passing offense
  • High probability of Michael Thomas injury

Last time we saw Jameis Winston play a full season of football, he was a loose cannon throwing for over 5,000 yards, 33 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions. However, vegas lines project a relatively modest season for the Saints’ passing offense. Their offensive line is solid, so it can only be assumed that they believe Dennis Allen will run an offensive scheme that relies on the run and their defense to carry them to victory.

While this is a fair assumption because he was the team’s defensive coordinator for seven years prior, it would be a big mistake if he does not make use of the weapons he has in the passing game.

After shopping lines for Saints receivers, I found the best value in Chris Olave. He projects to be the wide receiver two in the Saints offense behind Michael Thomas, but could easily slide into the number one role if Thomas were to miss an extended period of time, something that seems more and more likely with his nagging hamstring injury.

Even if Thomas were to play the full season, I think 675 yards is still a low line for Olave, who can line up anywhere and should make an immediate impact in this Saints offense. With that being said, I am locking in the over for Chris Olave’s receiving yards this season.
