NFL defensive player of the year: Micah Parsons, LB, Dallas Cowboys

As a rookie, Micah Parsons took charge of the Dallas Cowboys defense and became their leader.

Micah Parsons has the trajectory of being one of the best defensive players in history. Last NFL season, Parsons won the defensive rookie of the year unanimously and as a rookie, finished second in defensive player of the year voting. For the IDP guys, Parsons was ninth amongst linebackers in fantasy football. Parsons was also first in sacks, first in tackles for loss, and second in quarterback pressures.

Another year to perfect his craft, and grow as a leader, Parsons is my pick for defensive player of the year. With the NFC looking so mediocre, the Cowboys have a real shot at making the Super Bowl and the main cause will be Parsons leading the defense.

NFL Offensive player of the year: Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota Vikings

Justin Jefferson is the dynasty WR1 and my redraft WR1. In a newly revamped offense where coach Kevin O’Connell has stated that he wants to use Jefferson like his old team, the Rams used Cooper Kupp last season.

All Justin Jefferson has done in his first two years is have the most receiving yards in NFL history. Now, with an extra game, and a 30% target share on the way, #JJ2K should be a serious thing. Justin Jefferson will win the offensive player of the year by a big margin, but he will do it while having over 2000 receiving yards this NFL season.

Jefferson is tied for second with Deebo Samuel and Cooper Kupp at +1200. Just put aside $50 and put that on Jefferson winning this NFL season and enjoy those $600 when Jefferson wins the award.
