Top 3 keys to victory for Tennessee Titans vs New York Giants in Week 1
Trust rookie playmakers Treylon Burks and Kyle Phillips to step up vs Giants
Tannehill is going to have to trust his rebuilt receiving corp to step up and make plays now that last year’s top playmaker, AJ Brown, is a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.
New veteran players Robert Woods, a wide receiver from the LA Rams, and Austin Hooper, a tight end from the Cleveland Browns, were brought in as free agents to give Tannehill fresh targets this season.
Additionally, two rookie wide receivers, Treylon Burks (drafted No. 18 overall) and Kyle Philips (drafted No. 163 overall), are expected to get opportunities early, despite combining for just five receptions and one touchdown during the preseason.
Hopefully, Tannehill and his new receivers had enough time to gel and get on the same page during training camp because he’s never thrown an in-game pass to Woods, Hooper, Burks, or Philips. Tannehill did not compete in any of the team’s three preseason games.
Despite having a bad minicamp, Burks reportedly hit his stride during training camp and showed off some of the reasons why he was such a highly touted receiver out of Arkansas during the preseason.
If the Tennessee Titans can give Henry opportunities, keep Tannehill upright and trust their new receiving corp to make plays, this team should have no problem defeating the New York Giants in Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season.
