NFL Week 1 overreaction no. 2: The Minnesota Vikings are the team to beat in the NFC

In a head-to-head matchup, the Minnesota Vikings drew first blood. Both teams ran 61 total plays on offense, but only one looked going for it. The Purple People Eaters got to Aaron Rodgers four times. Danielle Hunter led the defensive line and looks like the force we know him to be. Za’Darius Smith rocked the reigning MVP like he was holding a grudge from the years he had to practice against him in that red jersey. Harrison Smith doesn’t appear to look a day over 25, and they are just getting started.

Meanwhile, his division rivals led by Kirk Cousins picked up where they left off. Cousins has arguably the best wide receiver core in the NFC. Justin Jefferson is looking to take the crown as the NFL’s best wideout, and Adam Thielen is a touchdown machine.

Dalvin Cook, when healthy, is one of the most explosive backs in the NFL. He’ll never have to worry about facing eight in the box. If a team does, Cousins will make them pay. The former first-round pick is easily one of the most disrespected players in the NFL. In 2022, he’s looking to bring home the MVP trophy. Can’t wait to see him hold it up at the NFL honors and shout. “Do you like that?”
