Wavering relationships in Seattle made it easier for Wilson to search for greener pastures. A new five-year deal fed Broncos fans hope for the upcoming season. News of the relocation set the stage for an intense opening night – leaving fans in Seattle to wonder who would become their next starter.

Replacing Russell Wilson looked easier than expected in Seattle’s debut. An efficient performance from veteran Geno Smith led the Seahawks to a surprising victory. Smith’s explosive start helped Seattle score on their first drive of the night. A dozen consecutive passes without an incompletion demonstrated No.7’s attention to detail. Accurate passing and pocket awareness caused Smith to thrive in Wilson’s return – stealing the headlines from Seattle’s former QB.
