2023 NFL mock draft: Cowboys land WR, Lions land star QB prospect
24. Seattle Seahawks: O’Cyrus Torrence, OL, Florida
The Seattle Seahawks are always good for at least one slightly off-the-wall pick, right? Although it’s not really en vogue to take interior offensive linemen super early in the NFL Draft, O’Cyrus Torrence might be playing his way to that kind of status early on with the Florida Gators.
The Louisiana transfer has been an absolute mauler for the Gators up front and would be a great addition to a rebuilding Seattle Seahawks team that has already made some great strides toward rebuilding their offensive line. In the 2022 NFL Draft, the Seahawks used a first-round pick on Mississippi State tackle Charles Cross, their new left tackle of the future.
In round three, they went after Washington State right tackle Abraham Lucas, a steal of a pick who will be their right tackle of the future. Now, they have a shot to grab a powerful interior player to protect whoever their QB of the future ends up being and pave running lanes for Rashaad Penny and Kenneth Walker.
25. Miami Dolphins: Brandon Joseph, S, Notre Dame
The Miami Dolphins have one of the best secondary units in the NFL on paper, but they have a chance to get even better in the 2023 NFL Draft with a pick like this.
Brandon Joseph is a transfer from Northwestern to Notre Dame after he picked off nine total passes from 2020-2021. He has yet to get his first interception as a member of the Fighting Irish but it seems only a matter of time. Even without any interceptions, Joseph has shown an aggressive mentality with Notre Dame and can play a versatile role in the secondary, something that is crucial for NFL teams.
