2023 NFL mock draft: Cowboys land WR, Lions land star QB prospect
16. Las Vegas Raiders: Paris Campbell Jr., OL, Ohio State
Do you think the offensive line is a problem area for the Las Vegas Raiders? It’s not like everyone saw this coming from a hundred miles away or anything. The Raiders made the tough decision (or maybe it wasn’t tough) to let go of former first-round pick Alex Leatherwood after a bad offseason under the new regime, and that move is indicative of where this team is at as a whole on the offensive line.
Other than former first-round pick Kolton Miller at left tackle, the Raiders’ offensive line may look completely different in 2023 than it does right now. We’ll see who can establish themselves over the course of the 2022 season, if anyone. Derek Carr, who is known for getting the ball out quickly, was sacked a whopping six times in the Raiders’ season opener against the Chargers. Adding a player like Paris Campbell Jr. who has played multiple spots on Ohio State’s line would be a huge get for the Raiders.
17. Tennessee Titans: Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame
Will the Titans turn to Malik Willis as their QB of the future if Ryan Tannehill fails to get this team to the playoffs in 2022? That’s a storyline to watch, for sure. One thing is certain — the Titans made a horrendous decision trading away AJ Brown instead of just paying him. They need to continue to reload their offensive weaponry and as nice of a value as Austin Hooper was in the offseason, tight end is one of those spots that needs to be addressed.
Luckily for the Titans in this 2023 NFL mock draft scenario, they are able to land the best tight end in the class in Michael Mayer out of Notre Dame. He was sensational with eight receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown in Notre Dame’s loss to Marshall and has the look of a longtime go-to weapon in the NFL.
