Nobody wants to be winless after the first two weeks of the season. History has not been kind to teams starting off 0-2 as far as the playoffs are concerned. There are a handful of NFL teams winless heading into Week 3 of the season that might be in some significant trouble.

Let’s take a look at a trio of winless teams around the league that need to get a win in a bad way this coming week.

NFL Week 3: Snake eyes in Vegas

The Las Vegas Raiders were a playoff team last year, ultimately losing to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Raiders added Davante Adams in the offseason, ostensibly to push Derek Carr over the top into “elite” status and propel the Raiders another step forward. That hasn’t quite worked out yet.

The Raiders lost to the Chargers in week 1 and proceeded to drop week two to the Cardinals. Let’s be clear, Arizona is not a good team. If the Raiders aspire to be a playoff team, you have to be better than 69 yards rushing from Josh Jacobs, and Mack Hollins can’t be your WR1 on any week.

Arizona came in severely shorthanded at receiver, and leading rusher James Connor went out early with an injury. Considering Kyler Murray doesn’t look to run nearly as much as he used to, the raiders should have had no problem stopping the Cardinal attack. Instead, they collapsed, giving up a 23-7 fourth-quarter lead on the way to an overtime loss.

The Raiders face a Titans team in Nashville in week 3 that could find themselves in a similar spot based on the Monday night game. If both teams are in desperation mode in Nashville, someone’s season is over.
