The Chicago Bears try to lick their wounds after another Green Bay Packers beatdown. They hope to heal when they face Lovie Smith and the Houston Texans. We are already in Week 3 for the Chicago Bears. They’ve already faced the highs and lows of an entire season. They could not be flying higher after their upset win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1.

In Week 2, however, they came crashing down. They received another beatdown at the hands of their hated rivals, the Green Bay Packers. Chicago entered the game feeling they had a shot. Green Bay, on the other hand, made sure that did not happen.

Chicago Bears can bounce back with matchup vs. Texans

After playing two playoff-contending teams, the Bears now face a team more at their level. They host the 0-1-1 Houston Texans, a team that, similar to the Chicago Bears, has struggled over the past few seasons. Also, like the Bears, the Texans have a struggling offense. Last season, they ranked 30th in the league in offense. This season, they are still near the bottom, ranking 26th.

The Bears, meanwhile, have ranked at or near the bottom of every offensive category since 2019. This season is more of the same, despite a change in the coaching staff. After ranking 27th in offense last season, they are up to 26th after two games this season.

Both teams are looking to try to improve their offenses in this game. However, expect a defensive battle. They both are more defensive, though the Texans are ranked higher. Houston ranks 9th in the league in defensive points allowed while the Bears unit ranks 12th.

Texans head coach Lovie Smith comes back to his old haunting ground. He had most of his coaching success when he was head coach of the Bears. He comes back to town hoping he gets a big win.

Points will be at a premium in this game. Let’s see if either team gets on a roll and gets a big victory. If the Texans win, they get their first win of the season. If the Bears do, they’ll be over .500 and own at least a piece of the NFC North.

Here are some things to look for in this game
