Winless Team #1: Cincinnati Bengals, Record (0-2)

Defending an AFC championship is hard for franchises that are still developing talent. Zac Taylor and the Bengals plan on returning to the big stage after they shake off the rust. A disappointing opening week shocked analysts and fans that expected Joe Burrow to build off the success he found in 2021. In his first game of the new campaign, the second-season gunslinger threw four interceptions – the deciding factor in an overtime loss.

Lack of protection has contributed to Cincinnati’s slow start. Joe Burrow is constantly under pressure and has struggled to find his receivers down the field. A week two loss to the Dallas Cowboys exposed the offensive front line. Micah Parsons and his teammates rattled Burrow – bringing him to the ground six times in four quarters.

A trip to the Meadowlands Sunday should help the defending AFC champions find their groove. Joe Flacco and the Jets had an impressive win against the Browns and will need all hands on deck to keep the momentum going. Ja’Marr Chase will be someone to watch as the Bengals hope to snag their first win of the season.

Responding to a disappointing start to the season is pivotal for teams that plan on making the playoffs this season. It is not too late for winless teams to rise in the standings – adding a new level of importance to the next week of games. Responses from players and coaches will encourage fans to stick around for the long haul.
