Which five teams should be on upset alert as the NFL enters Week 3?

The first couple of weeks of the season has given us a glimpse of what we can expect from each team. It’s also shown us who should be favored during the action during NFL Week 3.

Of course, being the favorite doesn’t guarantee anything. We have already seen some upsets this season and should have plenty more. Here, we look at which five teams need to be on alert as they try and avoid dropping a game they should be able to win.

5. Lions at Vikings

Entering the weekend, there’s a logjam in the NFC East with all four teams sitting at 1-1. This sets up an interesting matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions.

Minnesota is favored by 5.5 and will be at home. They also have a 1-0 record in the division thanks to a Week 1 win over the Green Bay Packers. Week 2 was a tougher one for them as they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. Philly also beat Detroit, but the Lions won against another NFC East foe, knocking off the Washington Commanders last Sunday.

Even though they’re favored, the Vikings cannot afford to take Detroit lightly. Dan Campbell’s club has been playing exceptional football on offense. They’re scoring 35.5 points per game and while the Vikings were embarrassed by the Eagles, Detroit lost by just three. They’re a scrappy bunch and can make some noise in this one, so the Vikings better be prepared.
