NFL Week 3: Three best bets to make on kickoff Sunday
Miles Sanders is set up for a big game against a poor Commanders rush defense.
- Has easily cleared in first two weeks
- Commanders 5th worst in EPA/rush on defense
- Spread implies good game script
Through two weeks of play, the Philadelphia Eagles are looking like one of the more dominant teams in the NFC. So far, their strategy has still been heavily reliant on the run game, but now Jalen Hurts actually looks relatively competent as a passer. This strategy should not change on Sunday, as they face a Washington Commanders defense that has allowed the 5th most EPA per rush so far on the season.
Looking specifically at Miles Sanders, he has been a vital part of the Eagles’ success so far. Through two weeks he has seen 30 carries and turned them into 179 yards, good for 5.9 yards a carry. He has also easily eclipsed this total in both of the two games, and the Eagles were only 3.5 and 1.5-point favorites in his first two games. Now with the Eagles favored by almost a touchdown, he may be in for an even heavier workload on Sunday, making his over 60.5 rushing yards one of my favorite bets of the week.
