6. Kansas City Chiefs

With the Bills losing to the Miami Dolphins, the door was open for the Kansas City Chiefs to take the No. 1 spot in our 2022 NFL Power Rankings. That didn’t happen as they suffered their first loss of the season in the biggest upset of the weekend.

Kansas City went into Indianapolis to face the Colts and they struggled with Indy’s defense, scoring just 17 points. It was still nearly enough but Matt Ryan hit a game-winner with just under 30 seconds to go.

Patrick Mahomes was picked off by Rodney McLeod to end the game. It shouldn’t be detrimental to their season but the loss kept them from taking a big lead in the AFC West.

5. Los Angeles Rams

After being bullied by the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, the Los Angeles Rams have now reeled off two wins in a row. They handled the Atlanta Falcons, who have been better than expected, in Week 2 and then knocked off the Arizona Cardinals on the road, 20-12.

It wasn’t a huge win and they scored just 20 points but it was a divisional victory which is always needed. But what mattered more is the fact that Matthew Stafford threw no interceptions for the first time this season — after having five in the first two weeks.

Cam Akers had his best game with 61 yards and a touchdown but did turn it over. And of course, Aaron Donald continued to play well, recording sack No. 100 in his career.
