After three weeks of the 2022 NFL Season in the books, some teams could be looking to the trade block to find some help and these players could be available

With the 2022 NFL season heading into Week 4, expectations for the season are starting to form. The rust is usually knocked off during the first few weeks and now, things start to get real.

Also, teams start to realize they might need more help. Whether it’s due to injury or players simply not living up to expectations, players all around the league could end up on the trading block.

Here are five such players that could be on the move before the trade deadline — which is Nov. 1 this year.

5. D’Ernest Johnson, RB, Cleveland Browns

D’Ernest Johnson is one of the feel-good stories in the NFL. He was undrafted in 2018 but couldn’t make the New Orleans Saints roster. He then spent 2019 with the Orlando Apollos and did enough to convince the Cleveland Browns to give him a shot.

He spent his first two seasons playing sparingly but was a factor in 2021 when Kareem Hunt missed nine games. Johnson appeared in all 17 games and even started two when Nick Chubb was out. He finished with 534 yards and three touchdowns while averaging an impressive 5.3 yards per carry.

Despite his impressive play, he’s been inactive for two of the three Cleveland games this season and has yet to get on the field. With Chubb and Hunt both healthy, that might not be the case. He also isn’t guaranteed to beat out rookie Jerome Ford, who has been active, should either of their stars go down.

That could lead to Johnson being traded, especially if there’s a team struggling with the ground game as the season goes on.
