Seattle Seahawks (1-2) at Detroit Lions (1-2)

Sunday, October 2, 1PM ET

Although the records show that both the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks are 1-2 this season, I think this is an example of two NFL teams on completely different trajectories right now. The Seahawks have been much tougher without Russell Wilson than anticipated so far. Especially given the fact they lost Jamal Adams so early in the season, the resilience and competitiveness they have shown with Geno Smith is admirable.

With that being said, the Seahawks have now dropped two straight games since beating the Broncos on Monday Night Football to open the season, and things aren’t getting any easier. The Detroit Lions, crazy enough, are one of the toughest teams in the NFL right now. They have been giving teams fits since Dan Campbell arrived, and although the Lions are also coming off of a loss, I think this is one of the safest bets of the week.

Detroit has some legitimate star power offensively, starting with wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. St. Brown is one of those offensive weapons you can trust in any situation and Jared Goff has certainly done that. Detroit’s scoring offense is just 1.3 points behind the Baltimore Ravens for best in the NFL through three weeks. They are seemingly moving the ball at will and there are some pieces on that defense as well.

With all due respect to the Seattle Seahawks, I think this is a game the Detroit Lions are going to run away with at home.

Prediction: Lions win 28-14
