FanDuel DFS, Broncos vs. Colts Week 5 lineup advice
There is still time to enter your lineup into tournaments for FanDuel DFS in a game between two of the lowest-scoring offenses in the NFL, the Denver Broncos and the Indianapolis Colts. Despite the fact that this is a matchup between two offenses still trying to find their identities, there might be some intrigue from a fantasy football/DFS perspective. The Denver Broncos are coming off of a loss, but also their best offensive output of the year against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Colts are without Jonathan Taylor but have seen some emergence from young pass catchers in recent weeks.
What kind of lineup should you be putting together for this particular game? Keep in mind, you have to pick at least one player from both teams and you have a budget of $60,000 on FanDuel DFS. There are some relatively low-risk tournaments you can enter and get placement or make some money. As always, bet at your own risk but let’s have some fun.
Single-game lineup includes five AnyFLEX player slots (multiple QBs eligible)
Denver Broncos vs. Indianapolis Colts FanDuel DFS lineup
AnyFLEX 1: Russell Wilson, Broncos ($16,500)
So far this season, Matt Ryan has thrown five interceptions and has fumbled the ball nine times. He’s on pace for an NFL record in that category. The Colts have one of the NFL’s lowest-scoring offenses and the Broncos’ defense is coming off of a bit of a letdown performance against the Raiders. For those reasons, I think you can skip Matt Ryan ($15,000) and save your budget for elsewhere.
Russell Wilson is coming off of a three-touchdown performance vs. the Raiders and looked arguably the best he has as a member of the Denver Broncos. He’s the highest-priced player on the docket but worth including in your lineups for sure.
AnyFLEX 2: Melvin Gordon, RB, Broncos ($12,500)
This will seem like a massive risk because Melvin Gordon has fumbled four times in the first four games of this season. He’s fumbled five times in five games dating back to the end of the 2021 season. He’s lost three fumbles that have been recovered for touchdowns over the Broncos’ last 12 games. Ouch.
With that being said, Gordon will be relied upon heavily with Javonte Williams out this week, and he’ll have a huge chance against the Colts to regain the trust of everyone in Broncos Country. Although his price point is not cheap, I think Gordon is a strong play on Thursday.
AnyFLEX 3: Courtland Sutton, WR, Broncos ($13,000)
Stacking the top three Broncos options in this game playing at home is a must from a FanDuel DFS perspective. Courtland Sutton has been heavily targeted through the first four weeks for the Broncos and that shouldn’t be changing much in Week 5 against the Colts. Sutton has been a stud this season.
AnyFLEX 4: Mo-Alie Cox, TE, Colts ($8,000)
I think you’ve got a great chance to cash in with one of the better bargain Colts options in FanDuel DFS this week with tight end Mo-Alie Cox. He’s coming off of a two-touchdown game against the Titans and the Broncos have been known to be susceptible to tight ends at times.
AnyFLEX 5: Denver Broncos D/ST ($10,000)
Trying to fill out this $60,000 budget fully, and I had the perfect amount remaining to take a shot on a nice wild card here with the Denver Broncos’ defense/special teams. As mentioned before, Colts quarterback Matt Ryan is averaging over an interception per game (5 this year) and has nine fumbles. The Broncos’ defense has been taking the ball away at least a time or two per game.
Put those two things together, and you’ve got the recipe for a defensive touchdown going Denver’s way in this game. Not to mention, the Broncos have one of the best young return specialists in the NFL in Montrell Washington, a rookie who has been extremely close to breaking one for six.
