With Matt Rhule out as the Carolina Panthers head coach, a fire sale could be coming. If so, these 3 teams should call about DJ Moore

It wasn’t exactly a shocker that the Carolina Panthers decided to part ways with Matt Rhule. Not only was the team failing on the field, but he even started to create some dissension when hinting the wide receivers weren’t doing enough to help their struggling quarterback, Baker Mayfield.

Wide receiver DJ Moore took exception to this, even though he remained incredibly calm and tried his best to be diplomatic in his response. Moore is off to the worst start of his career, thanks to the quarterback issues, and it might not get better with Mayfield in a walking boot.

Rather than try and keep the receiver happy, the Panthers might decide to see what they can get in a trade as they look to rebuild. Again. If so, here are three teams that should pull the trigger.

3. New York Giants

The first team that makes a lot of sense for DJ Moore is the New York Giants. Brian Daboll has them playing exceptionally well after five weeks and their latest win improved them to 4-1 on the year. They also knocked off the Green Bay Packers in that one, proving they can go up against top-tier teams.

As good as they’ve been, there’s still one glaring weakness. The Giants are beyond thin at wide receiver and could use someone with the run-after-catch ability Moore possesses.

His addition would also take a lot of the pressure off Saquon Barkley’s shoulders, as the fifth-year running back has been the primary reason for their success. As is the case with all teams mentioned as destinations, New York would have to free up some room in order to make this work.

Despite a roster that’s far from loaded, they have less than $4 million to spend. But with some creative accounting, and perhaps some help from the Panthers with the cap hit in 2022, they could pull it off.
