We are now a quarter of the way through the 2022 NFL season and it’s time to take a quick look at five of the most disappointing teams thus far in no particular order.

These will stem from high expectations heading into the season coupled with lackluster results through five games and all stats/numbers will be true as of Monday, October 10th before the Raiders-Chiefs game.

No. 1 most disappointing NFL team so far in 2022: Los Angeles Rams

The defending champions end Week 5 with a 2-3 overall record and have performed well in only one game this season.

They took it to the Cardinals in Phoenix and had control the entire way, but they got their doors blown off by the Bills in Week 1 at home, they got defensively beat up by the 49ers last Monday night, and then this week they got outclassed at home again by a backup quarterback in Cooper Rush. They even blew a big lead in their first win against the Falcons and could’ve very well been handed another loss if a few more things broke Atlanta’s way down the stretch.

This is a Rams team with gaping holes on both sides of the ball and it’s clearly showing.

The offensive line right now has allowed 21 sacks, which is tied for the most in football. The absence of Andrew Whitworth is being felt thoroughly. This group prided itself on taking the fight to defensive lines and right now it’s being bullied both in the passing and the run games.

The offense has tallied under 300 total yards per game.

The passing attack is averaging 237.4 yards per game

The rushing attack is averaging just 62.4 yards per game, which is dead last in the league.

The defense has been okay, but nowhere on the level of where it’s been the last several years. Dropping Von Miller might do that to you.

This is a Rams team with one of the best head coaches in professional football at the helm and it’s feeling the Super Bowl hangover HARD right now.
